Boulevard Apartments Preservation is the rehabilitation of three historic affordable apartment buildings owned by Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, preserving 70 homes for families in Logan Square and Humboldt Park:

• 1930–38 N. Humboldt Blvd.

• 929–35 N. Sacramento Blvd.

• 2212–14 N. Sacramento Ave.

Together, the buildings have provided quality, affordable housing along the Humboldt/Sacramento Boulevard corridor for more than 30 years.

The rehabilitation pairs historic preservation with significant building and energy upgrades. Two of the buildings are located within the Chicago Park Boulevard District and received historic tax credits, supporting extensive masonry restoration and historically appropriate window replacement and repair.

The ComEd Energy Efficiency Program also helped make it possible to fully electrify the buildings, eliminating gas service, while improving the efficiency of building systems. The project included renovated kitchens and bathrooms, new flooring, roofs, LED lighting, water-conserving fixtures, and other building-wide improvements.
