Southside Terrace Phase II
Affordable + Mixed-Income Housing
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Southside Terrace Apartments, one of the country’s oldest housing projects, is being reimagined into a mixed-income neighborhood designed for long-term community wellbeing.
This second phase of the development will offer 115 units across 5.3 acres to replace the previous barracks-style buildings of Southside Terrace. From one-bedroom units to spacious six-bedroom residences, the development will accommodate a broad spectrum of residents with varying incomes and enhance the quality of life for its inhabitants both indoors and outdoors. Green spaces—a large multi-sport playing field, a large playground with tiered equipment, walking paths, and a raised garden—will be located throughout the development, and residential services will be available in the largest (64-unit) multi-family elevator building.
This phase will also include two smaller walk-up buildings and additional townhouse clusters. Concealed parking facilities located within the interior of the community ensure convenience for residents while minimizing the visual impact of vehicles.
The HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) Grant, which supports mixed-income housing and reinvestment in communities that have historically been underserved, helped make this project possible. We’re proud to also share this funding source with The Highlander in North Omaha — another multi-phase, mixed-income development we’ve worked on across two phases.
