Terran Wilson is a Principal at LBBA. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and completed her thesis work at the Rural Studio. Since joining the firm in 2011, Terran has worked on a variety of projects including affordable rehabs and new construction, commercial build-outs, and college dormitories. In addition to traditional practice, Terran also co-led the development of the LBBA’s integrated design principles, which includes the somewhat unconventional idea of ‘joy’ as an indicator of projects’ success. She has directed the last few years of the office’s Labs program as an extension of collaborating with project teams to create a more equitable future.

Pursuant to her belief that it is an architect’s civic and social responsibility to pursue good design for all, Terran joined the AIA’s Center for Civic Leadership in 2016 and participates in AIA Chicago’s Prairie Grassroots. Terran has been a juror at the Illinois Institute of Technology, School of the Art Institute, and CPS High School Studio at SAIC. Terran was a guest instructor at After School Matters, mentor for the IIT Boeing Scholars program, and featured artist at Chicago Women in Architecture’s a.DOT exhibit in 2012.
