Julia Bohlen

Julia recently graduated with her Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and is excited to be continuing her professional journey with LBBA in Chicago. Her experiences working in Kigali, Rwanda, Barcelona, Spain, and Cleveland, OH, have deepened her passion for equitable, sustainable, and dignified design at both the architectural and urban scales. The opportunity to experience various cities has also increased her appreciation for urban life and culture. Her academic and professional work seeks to engage with ecological issues and community-oriented design.

Her experience with and passion for working across many scales of design has deepened Julia’s belief in the power of design and design research as a tool for impact. She is committed to creating spaces that foster connection, resilience, and belonging within communities through ecological, cultural, and social narratives. Julia is also involved in Chicago Women in Architecture, AIA Chicago, and enjoys playing tennis, developing creative projects, and exploring the city.
