Dominik Soltys

Dominik Soltys, a Principal at LBBA, has dedicated his architectural career to developing sensible, practical technology applications for affordable housing and commercial spaces. His comprehensive involvement spans planning, code research and review, technical assistance and evaluation, and construction observation. By integrating thoughtful design with meticulous detailing, he creates elegant, efficient, and occupant-oriented solutions.

His technical expertise, combined with an innate understanding of construction, sustainable practices, material research, and planning is a valuable asset to the entire team. Since joining LBBA, Dominik has designed and managed a diverse portfolio requiring thorough on-site evaluation and documentation. His work spans scattered-site affordable housing, commercial buildouts, industrial programs, moderate to gut rehabilitations, and high-rise rehabilitation projects including Heiwa Terrace, Island Terrace Apartments, Kenmore Plaza, and Cambridge Manor Senior Apartments. His ability to communicate technical issues clearly and concisely with all stakeholders has significantly contributed to effective, high-quality building design.

As a sustainable design leader within the firm, Dominik worked on Tierra Linda, an affordable scattered-site project featuring the first affordable multi-family Passive House in Chicago. His expertise in rehabilitation is demonstrated through his work on two historic SRO buildings—Buffet Place and The Carling—both of which have received prestigious awards for preservation, design, and community development.
