We had so much fun at Firebird Community Arts’ hot shop yesterday, where we got the chance to craft glass-blown paperweights and bowls with the help of the Firebird artists.

Firebird Community Arts is a wonderful organization that supports individuals through two fire-based art forms, glass blowing and ceramics. Their signature program, Project FIRE, is a trauma recovery program for youth affected by gun violence in Chicago. Along with teaching glass blowing, this project is an employment and mentoring program that provides access to support groups, case management, and medical treatment.
