8/1: AIA/HUD Secretary’s Award Webinar

Learn more about the AIA/HUD Secretary’s Awards and the design and construction of the awarded projects during aia housing knowledge community’s webinar taking place this coming Monday at 1pm. Catherine will be presenting LBBA’s work on Dorchester Art + Housing Collaborative, which was recognized for its incorporation of housing within other community amenities for the purpose of either revitalization or planned growth.

learning objectives

  • Participants will learn about the AIA Housing Awards, including specific selection criteria for the three different award categories for homes and housing that promotes physical, social and mental well-being.
  • Participants will learn about the AIA/ HUD Secretary’s Awards, including specific selection criteria for the four different award categories for homes and housing that promotes physical, social and mental well-being.
  • Participants will learn more about the 14 projects that were awarded in 2016, including some jury comments, their site design and context, environmental systems, and materials and methods.
  • Participants will learn about specific design and construction of two award-winning projects that relate to accessibility, affordability, community connectivity, and physical, social and mental well-being.
